Tau provides ocean transportation service of damaged vehicles to more than 120 countries worldwide.
Experts provide careful support from selling point to export.
Types of shipping
1.RORO shipping
- ①Only used vehicles (drivable vehicles) can be loaded for export by RO/RO vessels.
- ②As loading standards for RO/RO vessels vary from carrier to carrier, please inform your sales representative of the vehicle stock number at least 24 hours before the end of the bidding period and confirm whether the vessel can be loaded or not beforehand.
- ③Please note that if it is found after bidding that shipping arrangements cannot be made, a cancellation fee will be charged in accordance with the terms and conditions.
- ④The costs related to vessel arrangements, documentation, customs clearance and port operation fees are as follows.

*Shipping is only possible after authorisation by shipping companies.
2. Container
- ①It is possible to ship vehicles via 20 feet OR 40 feet High Cube containers.
- ②The number of vehicles that can fit inside a container depends on their size and damages, so please check with your sales representative in advance.
- ③Please note that hybrid/electric vehicles may not be transported to some areas.
- ④The shipping fees (including container loading charges, drayage fees, customs clearance fees, and export document dispatch costs) are as follows:
- Shipping Charge
2 to 4 vehicles can be loaded into a 40HC container, depending on thier condition and combination. The fees below listed per one vehicle.

- Terminal Handling Charge (THC)
Shipping companies charge the following container handling fees for containers.

Storage Fee
Purchased vehicles are stored free of charge for a certain period from the date of invoice.
For your convenience, the vehicle can be stored beyond the free storage period. In this case, you will be issued with following storage fees.

Other fees
- ①In case of cancellation a separate cancellation penalty will be issued.
*For cancellations after the vehicle was delivered to port, port charges, port storage and delivery costs will be charged separately. - ②Ocean freight rates fluctuate each month. Therefore, the invoiced ocean freight rates may change according to the month in which the vessel departs.
＊Sudden changes in circumstances may result in extra charges. - ③For BL corrections after customs clearance, a correction fee will be charged.
- ④The above costs are all the costs incurred in Japan. Please check the local costs by yourself.
Special Protection Service (SPS)
SPS can cover damages of your vehicle in case of unexpected accidents during transportation from our yards to the final destination.
We strongly recommend using this service if you plan to export your vehicles with Tau.
*Please note, the final judgement on damages and loss shall be made by Tau.

Export agent service
Tau also offers an export agency service for vehicles purchased from other companies.
We also handle export documentation, customs clearance and land transport arrangements.
Customers are assigned a dedicated area staff member who provides detailed progress reports.
